Where & When - The Long & Short Versions
The when is easy, Saturday 10th September 2005 at 1pm. Where is easy if you have the fluid mindset of the modern webmaster. It was at the InterContinental The George Edinburgh and its still there, the hotel hasn’t moved for over 200 years. We will be occupying the Adam Suite, designed by Robert Adam [yes that Robert Adam] in the eighteenth century and restored to it’s former glory in 1998. I’m sure that room will have a few more stories to tell after the roadshow crew have been and gone.
So…lets cut a long story short; Sat Sept 10th 05, The George Hotel, Edinburgh. Write it down, tie a knot in your hanky, set one of those fancy reminders that take 3 days to do and then forget to work when you need them thingy’s in MS Outlook - but most of all don’t forget, this is going to be a blast!

Decent hotels (4 or 5 Star):
The Balmoral - http://www.thebalmoralhotel.com/ - maybe 10 mins walk on the east end of Princes Street - few minute taxi ride
The Caledonian - http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=EDNCHHI - Now part of the Hilton chain but nuffin like the hilton in Vegas. This used to be THE hotel in Edinburgh before the huge influx of hotels. This is about a 20 minute beautiful walk along Princes Street. or 5 minute taxi ride
The Scotsman Hotel - formerly the Scotsman Newspaper office seemingly beautifully converted into a hotel. North Bridge - http://www.thescotsmanhotel.co.uk/intro2.html - at least 15 minute walk or 5 minute or less taxi ride
Carlton Hotel - across from The Scotsman on North Bridge

King James Hotel This is a Thistle hotel (think WMW London Pubcon - without the musty smell and the 70’s bar) - http://www.thistlehotels.com/thistle/hotels/hotelFinder/viewHotel.do?_DARGS=/thistle/WEB-INF/portlets/thistleLocationInfo/index.jsp.4_A&_DAV=th-edinburgh - this hotel is on Leith Street which is just off the east end of Princes Street. About a 10 - 15 minute walk from the George.
