Best Western Museum Hotel P.C. Hooftstraat 2 Amsterdam (seems to require multi-day stay –no problem for me this time).

Just a quick heads up [and a filler post to populate a new catagory], Easyjet AKA Chicken Airlines fly in to Edinburgh from many airports. Worth a look as from experience it is quicker and cheaper than the train.
